Camel Wrestling
No that is not a typo in the title. Camel Wrestling is a sport originated in Turkey and still very popular to
day. In Turkey the Wrestling or “Tulu” Camels are pitched against each other about 10 times before being retired. The festivities began when the tribes that settled Turkey in 200 B.C. noticed how often camels would fight each other during mating season. In the mid 1800s the sport exploded all across the Middle East and now there are over 30 events per year that have the camels wrestling each other.
If you are looking to join in the sport, a specially bred camel will set you back $20,000 but if you win the championship you easily multiply your money spent.
